Playing tennis

Playing Tennis at Wimbledon

In line with the informal nature of the club, there is generally no booking of courts. The exceptions are for organised mixing-in times, team matches, coaching, floodlights and the indoor court.

If the club is busy (other members are waiting for a court) then players are expected to vacate the court after one set (5 minutes warm up allowed) or 30 minutes hitting. At other times play may continue as desired.

If a match is in progress, including club championship and individual external competitions (e.g. Surrey or London Parks) then the match must be allowed to complete.

Teams are organised by volunteer team captains, please see the team page for details.

Club mixing-in times are Wednesday evening from 6pm to 8pm and Saturday & Sunday afternoons from 2pm to 5pm (Full Adult Members & Gold Badge Juniors).

Mixing-in is also arranged on weekday mornings between 9.15 and 11.30am (Full & Off-Peak Members).

The annual club championship is held between May and mid-July.

American tournaments are run at least once a month all year round.

Juniors have priority on all hard courts between 4pm and 6pm Monday to Friday Coaching has priority on court No 9 at all times except Saturday morning between 9.30am and 11am.
