Facilities

Facilities

The Club enjoys some of the best facilities in Surrey and the South of England.  A new Clubhouse was completed in 1998, giving members modern facilities with a light, airy ambience.

The bar, which is on the first floor and its extensive balconies overlook the tennis courts and cricket pitch.  The courtside restaurant is also on the first floor and enjoys great views over Wimbledon Park lake and the Club tennis courts.

The general facilities at the Club include good-sized changing rooms (separate rooms for home and away cricket teams), and a mixed sauna.  A new extension is nearing completion and this will house a multi-purpose room upstairs, and the new fitness facilities and practitioner’s room downstairs.

The squash section has 5 courts, four of them glass backed, all with heating and air-flow controls, both extract and supply.  The two show courts have seating at the back.   The courts are 11 years old and are in excellent condition.

The tennis facilities include 8 grass courts, three acrylic, three astro turf and one porous acrylic, so there is a variety of surfaces to suit members.  Additionally, we have a sports hall with one indoor court, which is a ‘trophy’ acrylic surface. There are significant plans for development and improvements currently lodged with Merton and awaiting planning permission.

The cricket section has 15 wickets on the one square at The Club.  Additional they have another ground at Lindisfarne Road, where the Club has invested significant expertise and money to create and excellent facility for juniors and seniors alike. They also use other local facilities, such as two pitches at The London School of Economics ground, New Malden.  Cricket has 4 recently built outdoor nets, and use the sports hall 4 indoor nets for Winter use.

The hockey section have played in Raynes Park for many years, and are now finalising a long-term agreement with Kings College School for use of a second, brand new pitch adjacent to the one they currently use.  The section will then be able to run both ladies’ and men’s training and matches in close proximity, which will be a huge bonus both for training purposes and mutual support.

Additionally, the Club has a fitness facility for existing sports members and their families, partners and close friends, meaning that those not actually playing sport at the Club can be gainfully employed whilst matches and training are in progress!  The facility is just about to move into the new extension and is designed to help fitness and strength training for the sports played at the Club.  There is a full range of cardio-vascular and resistance equipment and individual programmes are part of the service to members.
