General information
The Club’s mission is to provide the best possible facilities for its members, which is why there is always work at all stages of undertaking from planning to final fruition.
The new Clubhouse extension is due to open on schedule at the end of May and we are currently at the whirlwind stage of everything happening at once.
The building looks amazing and the facilities will be fantastic. The top floor, which boasts stunning views over the Club grounds and the beautiful Capability Brown landscaped environs, will be multi-functional from corporate hospitality suite to junior space, exercise studio, table tennis area and lecture/teaching room. The ground floor houses the new gym and rehabilitation/practitioners’ room.
Internal changes to the existing Clubhouse which itself is only 11 years old, include a bigger office giving working space to the newly appointed Directors of Sports, part of the Club’s commitment to offering opportunities for those looking to achieve their full potential at their individual sport. Each of the Directors is a former International at their respective sport. Lastly, the cramped House Managers’ accommodation will be extended and desperately needed storage space acquired.
The Club is entering into a new build and long term leasing arrangement with Kings College School, to provide two adjacent top quality astroturf pitches at nearby Raynes Park. Additionally, the cricket section has just taken over their four new outdoor nets, and the tennis section has 2 separate major planning applications currently awaiting approval from Merton.
